古有秦始皇为了追求长生不老，费劲艰辛，历时n年，甚至不惜耗费巨大人力财力，派出徐福率童男童女数千人至东海求神，未果，惧惮不已，逡巡不归而创一海外移民之国；今却有Andrew反其道行之，历200年之久，弃永生而不顾只为一个目的：to be a human being,一种追求：freedom and humanity。鲜明的对比，截然相反的追求恰恰凸现生而为人的真正意义所在：活着，是为了爱和被爱；长生的痛苦远远超越快乐；与其枉费心机追求一些无意义的，不如抓紧时机珍惜真正有价值的；生老病死的历程，其实深蕴造物者的仁慈。
其实毋庸多言，这一部温情脉脉的片子，以独特的视角，感性的镜头，借助Andrew的其言其行，于潜移默化中向观众宣讲了编者领悟到的智慧之声.
在Andrew站在人类委员会面前申请对其变而为人的认可，他做如下阐述：

在他失败后再度尝试时，他又做如下言：
I've always tried to make sense of things. There must be some reason I am as I am. You have arranged to die?

做为女性，难免感性；影片除了一条主线外，还有一条副线：就是我不可避免的被他和little miss以及他和她孙女之间的情感触动所在。前者的擦肩以及后者的携手，虽然充满理想主义和浪漫主义色彩，虽然有不少可被逻辑所诟病之处，毕竟，让人感觉美好，让人仍旧乐观向往童话中永远的happy ending 和 live happily ever after. 如果现实残酷，至少我们还有梦工厂的安慰。
What's right for most people in most situations isn't right for everyone in every situation! Real morality lies in following one's own heart.
且不管追随自己的心会造成后果若干，暂不论现实考量中的道德与否，至少，大胆讲出此话的人，并身体力行之，让人艳羡。当然，艳羡，不代表认同，很多事，很多选择，还得放在具体的情境中衡量。
